XC 10 VM Setup

Windows Virtualization Verification:
       1.       Make sure that the workstation used to install the VM Player 5.0.2/ VMWare Workstation 9.0.2          has Virtualization Capability Enabled.
       2.       Windows à Start àSearch for “Intel Processor Identification Utility”



        3.       Enable the Virtualization through Net BIOS

Note: Enable virtualization in BIOS only when Virtualization Technology is “No” in the above screenshot
Enabling virtualization extensions in BIOS:
1.     Reboot the computer and open the system's BIOS menu. This can usually be done by pressing the delete key, the F1 key or Alt and F4 keys depending on the system.
2.     Enabling the virtualization extensions in BIOS
Note: Many of the steps below may vary depending on your motherboard, processor type, chipset and OEM. Refer to your system's accompanying documentation for the correct information on configuring your system.
    1. Open the Processor submenu: The processor settings menu may be hidden in the Chipset, Advanced CPU Configuration or Northbridge.
    2. Enable Intel Virtualization Technology (also known as Intel VT-x). AMD-V extensions cannot be disabled in the BIOS and should already be enabled. The virtualization extensions may be labeled Virtualization Extensions, Vanderpool or various other names depending on the OEM and system BIOS.
    3. Enable Intel VT-d or AMD IOMMU, if the options are available. Intel VT-d and AMD IOMMU are used for PCI device assignment.
    4. Select Save & Exit.

WIRELESS SETUP at HOME

      1.     In your virtualization software, import and start the WebSphere DataPower XC10 Appliance virtual image OVA package

      2.     Change Network Adapter & Network Adapter2 to use "Bridged" in VM (vmware, oracle vm, etc) Network Settings before you start the XC10 image. Choose only the Wireless Adapter by clicking on the configure Adapters Button



    3.     After the image starts, Iogin as xcadmin/xcadmin to the console and type below:



4   .  Follow the below commands


Console> edit ethernet-interface eth0
Console  ethernet-interface:eth0> ip
CWZBR02205I: Entering "ip" mode
Console  ethernet-interface:eth0 ip> address 192.168.0.10/24   

(use ip address value between 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.105. I have used 192.168.0.10)



Console  ethernet-interface:eth0 ip> exit
Console  ethernet-interface:eth0> exit
Console> show ethernet-interface eth0




Console> status ethernet-interface eth0



Console> force-recycle

Check the status of the application using start-progress or https://192.168.0.10:9443


When the appliance comes up test the connectivity from Virtual guest system to host system by using net-test ping as shown below



Test connectivity from the Host system to Virtual guest system from cmd using ping as shown below





Once the ping test shows accessible from both ends.
If connectivity fails from the Host system to Virtual. Try opening the below url and perform Diagnose the errors from browser and wait till the problems is resolved and check the connectivity once again.



DataPower VM Setup


STEPS FOR SETTING DataPower Virtual Machine in Local PC

Required – DataPower VM copy, VMWare Player

Configure VM settings based on system and network configuration.

Start VM Player and follow the below steps.

Login: admin
password: admin
Enter Disaster Recovery mode [yes/no]: no
Enter Common Criteria Compatibility mode? [Yes/no]: no
Please enter new password: provide-password
Please re-enter new password to confirm: provide-password
Do you want to run the Install Wizard? [Yes/no]: y

Step 1
Do you want to configure network interfaces? [y]: y
Do you have this information? [y]: y
Do you want to configure the eth0 interface? [y]: y
Do you want to enable DHCP? [y]: y
Do you want to configure the eth1 interface? [y]: y
Do you want to enable DHCP? [y]: y
Do you want to configure the eth2 interface? [y]: y
Do you want to enable DHCP? [y]: y
Do you want to configure the eth3 interface? [y]: y
Do you want to enable DHCP? [y]: y

Step 2
Do you want to configure network interfaces? [y]: y
Do you want to configure DNS? [Y/n]: n

Step 3
Do you want to define unique system identifier for the appliance? [Y]: y
Note: Give any appropriate unique system identifier
Enter a unique system identifier: VijayDP

Step 4
Do you want to configure remote management access? [y]: y
These configuration require the IP address of the local interface that manage the appliance.
Do you have this information? [y]: y
Do you want to enable SSH? [y]: y
Enter the local IP address [0 for all]: 0
Enter the port number [22]:
Note: Just enter to accept default
Do you want to enable WebGUI access [y]: y
Enter the local IP address [0 for all]: 0
Enter the port number [9090]:
Note: Just enter to accept default

Step 5
Do you want to configure a user account that can reset passwords [y]: y
Note: This is optional, but you can provide userid and password (keep note of this detail)

Step 6
Do you want to configure the hard disk array? [y]: y

Enter name for the file system [ondisk]: vj_local

Step 7
